One day hiking and cultural discovery tour, followed by one night camping

30 minutes of drive toward the starting point, 13 kilometers for aproximately 08 hours walk and 753m ascent & 710m descent
- Sunday:
07 kilometers for 02 hours and 30 minutes walk and 143m ascent & 187m descent, 45 minutes of drive back to Fianarantsoa,
- Additional information:
For Saturday, it is possible to do the day hike only without the overnight camping. There is also an alternative that is easier and pleasant walk, shorter without walking up to the top of Somaina.
Alternatively on Sunday, you can take the option to get picked up from a village that is only 10 minutes walk from the campsite then drive for about 1h 30 min to Fianarantsoa.
It is still possible to drive to Ambalavao and/or carry on until Ranohira (or Ranomafana, Ambositra) after the camping

8 hours 40 minutes walking with 753m ascent and 710m descent
Departure by car from Fianarantsoa and drive south for about 24 km on the RN7 until the village of Berangotra. Here begins your immersion into the depth of the Betsileo world! We leave the road to walk through Betsileo villages and to tackle a climb on a plateau used for agriculture at the foot of the Somaina Mountain. The path takes us on a mountain trail; after heading over a pass, a new landscape already floods your vision. We will begin to climb up the Somaina Mountain, and on the way we will stop at different viewpoints. Upon arrival at the summit, you will be rewarded with an exceptional view that you will continue to contemplate during the descent. After crossing through the middle of large blocks of granite, and passing through a remnant of primary mountain forest, you will arrive at the foot of a beautiful rock face where our campsite will be.Saturday

After breakfast, get ready to return to Fianarantsoa, this morning we have a nice and pleasant walk for about two and a half hours along the dirt road accompanied by the villagers that is going to bring their products to the market or students going to the main road back to the city that come from getting supplied from their parents village. Before arriving at our final destination, we are going to pass through a Betsileo village with rice fields and with all of those images in our mind and the nice souvenir of this experience, we are taking the car that is waiting for us in a village on the main road 7 to drive back to Fianarantsoa for about 45mn of ride.No details found.
